Zimmerman's 1st inning slam propels Sioux to win in B2 opener, 6-5 over OJW

Ryan Zimmerman went yard, continuing his season of big at bats in the 1st inning. The 4-0 lead only lasted for 3 innings, OJW tied it in the 4th and the teams traded single runs the rest of the way with Vermont prevailing 6-5.

Mike Aviles blasted a homerun at Fighting Sioux Field where the Vermont
Fighting Sioux beat the Outlaw Josey Wales by the score of 6 to 5.
 
Brett Myers(5-2) had a solid outing for Vermont.  He went 7 innings allowing 7
hits and 1 walk.  Outlaw threatened in the 9th but their rally came up short.
 
B.J. Ryan gained credit for his 6th save.  Greg Smith(2-6) took the loss. He
gave up 6 runs in 5 and 1/3 innings of work.  'This was a tough loss,' said
Mark Hildebrant, 'the kind that sticks with you for awhile.'
