The Springfield Isotopes were certainly pleased to stop the bleeding as their
5 game losing streak was finally halted and and the Pocono Chin Music locked
up in an exciting one-run game at Thunderdome. The final score was the
Springfield Isotopes 6, the Pocono Chin Music 5 in 12 innings.

Both teams had scored 5 runs after nine full innings. Springfield won it in
the 12th inning. After an out was recorded, Omar Infante lashed a single.
Doug Sherlag then called for a steal which was successful. Adam Laroche got
his chance to keep things going, but he went down on strikes. Ryan Hanigan
stepped in and he singled. Bobby Jenks then was wild with a pitch. Ian
Stewart added to the uprising and lined a one-base hit. Springfield
continued their aggressive style with another stolen base. Shin-Soo Choo was
the next batter, but he struck out. Pocono had 16 hits in the game while
Springfield had 12, but Springfield had the more timely hits.

Joe Thatcher(4-0) got the win allowing no runs in 1/3 of an inning. Miguel
Batista recorded his 1st save. Jenks(0-2) was hit with the loss in relief.

went 6 and 1/3 innings and surrended up 5 hits and 1 walk. Sanchez recorded

Haren(4-10) absorbed the loss. Bill Anderson, Jr. was in a contemplative
mood after the tough loss, 'It is really hard to lose this kind of a game.
It may seem weird to some, but it is easier to take the occasional blow-out
loss. It is the ones that just barely get away that hurt so much - like this
one!'
