DFW 2 NJT 1

The days of managers being scared to pitch to Barry Bonds is over. With 2 outs in the bottom of the 8th, men on 2nd and 3rd, pitcher Kyle Lohse IBB PH Freddy Sanchez with Bonds on deck. Then NJT brought in closer F. Cordero who walk Bonds thus sending in the go ahead run. DFW played the Top of the 9th as if the score was tied at 1-1. When the 3rd out was recorded and the screen came up 'Box Score' or 'Delete last play', manager Robbins was dumb founded. I felt like I was on Wheel of Fortune. Vana can I buy 'A CLUE'! D'OH

With the hometown crowd on the edge of their seats, Lake Champlain Cannibals
came from behind to top Outlaw Josey Wales, 11 to 9.

Lake Champlain won the game with a rally in the bottom of the 9th inning with
3 runs on 2 hits. Chris Young led off and started the rally when he doubled.
After an out was recorded, Rickie Weeks came up and he drew a walk. Ryan
Doumit then smacked a three-run homer (his 2nd of the season) making Lake
Champlain the victor and beginning a joyous home town celebration. Lake
Champlain ended up with 15 hits for the game while Outlaw had 12.

The winning pitcher was Derrick Turnbow(1-0) who allowed no runs in 2/3 of an
inning. The loss was charged to Joakim Soria(0-1) in relief. Steve Beard was
in great spirits in his post-game interview. Yet, when asked about his
feelings after the thrilling comeback victory, he volunteered, 'I'll tell you
this much - I know how my counterpart, Mark Hildebrant, feels right now - and
it's not very good. It's terrible when you come up on the short end of one
of these!'

WEB GEMS- Bot 2nd: Ryan Spilborghs robbed Curtis Granderson of a Homerun!

Center fielder Curtis Granderson touched them all and had 2 RBI as the Lake
Champlain Cannibals won at Creutzfeldt-Jakob's in dramatic fashion over the
Georgia Roadkill, the final score, 9 to 6.

Lake Champlain had the winning rally in the bottom of the 9th inning scoring 3
runs. Granderson led off and started the rally when he drew a walk.
Granderson got a great jump and stole second easily. After another out,
David Ortiz struck out, unable to help the rally. Jim Thome was up next and
he was walked intentionally. J.D. Drew stepped into the box and lofted a
three-run bomb (his 2nd of the season) making Lake Champlain the victors to
the delight of the home town faithful. A wild and woolly affair, this game
saw the lead change 6 times.

Ryan Franklin(1-0) allowed no runs in 1/3 of an inning, and picked up the
victory. Dustin McGowan(0-1) took the loss. Despite losing, he struckout 13
Lake Champlain batters in 8 innings.
