Shortstop Alex Gonzalez had 4 hits and 3 RBI as the Dallas Ft Worth Spurs
outscored the Vermont Fighting Sioux 14 to 9.
Gonzalez enjoyed a big day at the plate. He hit a single bringing in a run in
the 2nd inning, laced a base-hit in the 4th inning, doubled in the 5th inning
and lifted one out of the park for a two run home run (his 1st of the season)
in the 8th inning. Dallas Ft Worth simply wore out the Vermont pitching
staff, scoring in 6 different innings.
The win was credited to Jamie Moyer(1-0) who went 5 innings allowing 6 runs.
Miguel Batista(0-1) absorbed the loss. He allowed 7 hits and 4 walks in 3
and 2/3 innings.
