4-Run 3rd, Unit, lead NJT over VFS

New Jersey scored all the runs they needed in a four run thrid inning and held on for the 5-3 win over Vermont. Randy Johnson pitched 6 shut out innings to get the win.

In a close game it was the New Jersey Trash Heap 5, the Vermont Fighting Sioux
3 at Fighting Sioux Field.
 
New Jersey scored 4 runs in the 3rd inning with the help of 5 hits.  That
early scoring held up.  New Jersey totaled 11 hits on the night.  
 
The victory went to Randy Johnson(4-5) who went 6 innings, allowing no runs.
J.P. Howell gained credit for his 6th save.  Aaron Cook(2-5) absorbed the
loss.  He surrendered 4 runs and 9 hits in 7 innings.  
 
The win by New Jersey was very good news as they had been 2-8 of late.  Now
their seasonal record improves to a division leading 29-20.  With the loss,
the Vermont ballclub's record is 32-23.
