Dempster dominant against Vermont

Ryan Dempster took a no-hitter into the 7th inning and ended up hurling 8 1/3 innings of great ball. OJW scored the game's only runs with 3 in the opening frame as VFS starter Braden Looper shut them down the rest of the way. Joakim Soria slammed the door, getting the final 2 outs for his 10th save and pushing his ERA under a c-hair.

Ryan Dempster took a no-hitter into the 7th inning at Fighting Sioux Field as
the Outlaw Josey Wales beat the Vermont Fighting Sioux by the count of 3 to
0.
 
Dempster(9-3) simply dominated Vermont.  He didn't give up much, just 2 hits
and 3 walks in 8 and 1/3 innings lowering his ERA from 4.15 to 3.77.  The
right-handed Dempster lost his no-hit bid when Carlos Quentin singled with
one out in the 7th inning.  Neither team managed to score after the 1st
inning.  
 
Dempster got help from Joakim Soria who earned his 10th save. Braden
Looper(2-2) ended up with the loss.  He gave up 3 runs and 7 hits in 9
innings.
