Blue Skies in DFW

Some things in life you question and don't expect an answer. Like 'Why is the sky blue', 'Why is the grass green', 'How high is up, and 'How is DFW 30-16'?????? Let's face it gone are the days that the Spurs had an intimating lineup with the likes of Bonds, Martinez & Griffey. They still have Griffey but the lion he once was doesn't roar like he use to!! KGJ has struggled this year batting under the (Mendoza line) at .198 with 2 dingers and 9 ribbies. DFW has a team BA of .275 and have hit only 33 home runs, tied for last in the NASBL. D. Lee (.308ba, 4hr, 20rbi) and M. Bradley (.308ba 6hr 29rbi) lead the offense. The Jr. leading the team this year is Jerry Hairston Jr (.384ba, 82b, 4hr, 19rbi). Unfortunately Jerry has a bad hamstring and has to be careful. If the Spurs can get a half of season they will be happy. Certain days Jerry can't play and grabs his hammy and winches in pain (the pain is called Usage)!

The pitching staff has the biggest and nicest surprised with a team ERA of 4.05. Dave Bush has regained his winning form of a couple years ago going 5-1, with a 3.70era. Reliever turned starter Justin Duchscherer is 4-2, with a 3.14era. Bush has given up 14hr in 65ip. When Dave pitches you don't know if you going to get the good one who in 3 starts has 3 CG, 2 SH and given up only 1 homer, or the bad one in 3 starts has thrown 18.2 ip and given up 12 homers! Let's face it, nobody likes a bad Bush!! Along with Bush, Duchscherer has thrown 3 CG and 2 SO this season. It prompted a move for fans to look up what CG & SH were abbreviate for, because that doesn't come up much in DFW pitching stats! K-Rod leads the team with 8 saves in 10 tries.
