Robinson Cano blasted 2 homeruns and had 3 RBI and Ervin Santana was able to
finish what he started and was credited with a complete game as the Vermont
Fighting Sioux defeated the Miami Surf by a score of 9 to 4 at Fighting Sioux
Field.
The Vermont fans enjoyed the offense provided by Cano. He lifted one out of
the park for a two run home run in the 2nd inning and smashed a solo-shot out
of the park (his 2nd of the season) in the 4th inning. Vermont totaled 9
hits on the night.
Santana(6-1) lasted until the end allowing 4 runs for the win. John
Lannan(4-4) ended up with the loss. He was not very effective, surrendering
9 runs in 7 innings.
