The New York Knights nipped the Lake Champlain Cannibals in 10 innings 7 to 6 at Empire Field in a hard fought contest.

Both teams were tied at 6 runs apiece after nine innings. Finally, New York pulled the game out in the 10th inning. Jorge Cantu laced a single. Matt Kemp stepped into the batter's box and he lined a base-hit. Jeff Kent then hit a single giving New York the win and sending the home town fans into a frenzy. New York ended up with 16 hits for the game while Lake Champlain had 13.

Chad Qualls(3-0) picked up the victory, allowing no runs in 2/3 of an inning. Hong-Chih Kuo(2-2) was given the loss in relief. He surrendered 1 run and 3 hits without retiring a batter.
