19,331 fans were treated to a fine game at Empire Field as only one run
separated the combatants at game's end. The New York Knights won by the
slimmest of margins, 5 to 4.

New York came up with 3 runs in the 3rd inning. The critical plate appearance was by Ty Wigginton who came through for the home fans when he cracked a two-run shot (his 3rd of the season). Seattle threatened in the 9th but their rally came up short.

Jon Lester(5-5) went 5 and 1/3 innings allowing 4 runs for the victory. Lester got help from Chad Qualls who was credited with his 3rd save. Todd Wellemeyer(3-2) was the losing pitcher.

'Fundamentals, fundamentals, fundamentals' said Frank Pennylegion after the game. 'We lost this game today because we didn't follow the instructions every Little Leaguer hears every day.'
