The Vermont Fighting Sioux nipped the Slatington Bulldogs in 10 innings 5 to 4
at Fighting Sioux Field in a hard fought contest.
 
The score was tied at 4 after nine.  Vermont was victorious in the 10th
inning.  After an out was recorded, Luis Valbuena doubled.  One out later,
Kevin Kiermaier came up and he lined a one-base hit giving Vermont the
victory and sending the 45,685 home-town fans home happy.  Slatington had 13
hits in the game while Vermont had 10, but Vermont had the more timely hits.
 
The victory went to Brad Ziegler(1-0) who went 1 inning, allowing no runs.
Tyson Ross(0-1) took the loss.  He surrendered 5 runs and 9 hits in 9 and 1/3
innings.
