In an entertaining game at Fighting Sioux Field the final score was the
Vermont Fighting Sioux 4, the Springfield Isotopes 1.
 
Vermont came up with 3 runs in the 4th inning with the help of 3 hits.  After
an out was recorded, Chris Davis keyed the rally when he doubled.  After
another out, Russell Martin came up and he smashed a two-run homer.  Chris
Coghlan then ripped a solo home run.  Vermont managed 7 hits in their
victory.  
 
The victory was credited to Yovani Gallardo(1-0) who went 7 and 2/3 innings,
allowing 1 run. Brad Ziegler gained credit for his 3rd save.  Masahiro
Tanaka(0-1) was the losing pitcher.  He allowed 3 homeruns in 8 innings of
work.
