In a good matchup it was the Illinois Chow Chows 5, the Dallas Ft Worth Spurs
3 at Turnpike Stadium.

Illinois came up with the deciding runs in the top of the 8th inning with 2
runs utilizing 3 base hits.  After an out was recorded, Justin Upton started
the attack as he lined a one-base hit.  Daniel Murphy was next and he smashed
a two-run homer.  Illinois totaled 10 hits on the night. 

Jonathan Papelbon(1-0) allowed no runs in 1 and 1/3 innings, and picked up the
victory. Papelbon got help from David Robertson who earned his 1st save.
Mike Leake(2-2) was given the loss.  He gave up 5 runs and 9 hits in 7 and
1/3 innings.
