Center fielder Andrew McCutchen launched 3 homeruns at Turnpike Stadium as the
Dallas Ft Worth Spurs beat the Canyon Country Cannons in 11 innings by the
count of 5 to 4.
Both teams had scored 4 runs after nine full innings. Finally, Dallas Ft Worth
pulled the game out in the 11th inning. McCutchen lofted a solo-blast
'downtown' resulting in a mighty exciting win for Dallas Ft Worth and the
46,994 home town fans in attendance. Dallas Ft Worth finished with 8 hits in
the victory.
The victory was credited to Cody Allen(1-0) who went 2/3 of an inning,
allowing no runs. Will Smith(0-1) suffered the loss in relief. He pitched 1
inning allowing 2 hits and no walks.
'I had a big day, but there's a lot of credit to go around' McCutchen said.
'We played well together as a team.'
