In a close game it was the Dallas Ft Worth Spurs 7, the Pocono Chin Music 5 at
Thunderdome.
Dallas Ft Worth went ahead for good in the top of the 3rd inning scoring 2
runners on 3 hits. Pocono was out-hit by Dallas Ft Worth, 14 hits to 11.
Jamie Moyer(2-1) went 5 and 1/3 innings allowing 4 runs for the win. Heath
Bell gained credit for his 3rd save. John Smoltz(0-2) was the losing
pitcher. He got hit hard, allowing 10 hits and 3 walks in 5 innings.
'Ahhh, that victory was surely needed. Man alive, things were getting awfully
grim,' noted Red Robbins. 'Now, we need to string a bunch of wins together
and turn things around!'
