At Fighting Sioux Field, the Vermont faithful were treated to an intriguing
pitcher's duel.  Felix Hernandez(2-1) finally bested his Springfield
counterpart, Max Scherzer(0-1), by the score of 2 to 1.
 
Vermont jumped on top of Springfield in the bottom of the 2nd inning scoring
one runner.  Springfield out-hit Vermont 7 to 4, but Vermont ended up with
more runs.  
 
Blake Parker gained credit for his 2nd save.  The loss was charged to
Scherzer.  He struck out 14 batters in 8 innings despite losing the game.
