Center fielder Josh Hamilton touched them all and had 2 RBI at Wreckin' So
Field where the Springfield Isotopes beat the Outlaw Josey Wales by the score
of 5 to 2.
Springfield came through with the game-winning runs in the 8th inning scoring
3 runs on 2 hits. Brian Roberts led off and he drew a walk. Roberts got a
great jump and stole second easily. Aramis Ramirez then doubled. Lance
Berkman was a strikeout victim, unable to help out. Hamilton stepped into
the box and bombed a two-run dinger (his 13th of the season). Reed Johnson
added to the outburst and drew a walk. Adam Dunn stepped up next and he drew
a walk. Matt Capps earned the save with a perfect ninth, his 14th save.
Matt Thornton(1-3) got credit for the victory, pitching 1 and 2/3 innings and
allowing no runs. Rich Harden(10-4) took the loss. He served up 3 gopher
balls in 7 and 1/3 innings.
