Gabe Kapler ripped 2 homeruns and had 4 RBI and Rich Harden allowed only 2
hits resulting in a big goose egg on the scoreboard for New Jersey at
Wreckin' So Field as the Outlaw Josey Wales beat the New Jersey Trash Heap by
the count of 7 to 0.
Kapler enjoyed a great evening at the plate. Every time he came up in the
latter innings, the crowd was on their feet cheering. He lofted a solo-blast
'downtown' in the 1st inning, stroked a single which was good for two runs in
the 3rd inning and ripped a solo home run (his 8th of the season) in the 7th
inning. Outlaw finished with 11 hits in the victory.
It was the 5th shutout of the year for Harden(12-4). Randy Johnson(11-9) took
the loss. He allowed a few too many baserunners giving up 11 hits and 2
walks in 8 innings.
'I had good swings tonight,' Kapler said, 'Everything felt right'.
