Spurs Roll the Dice

Dallas Morning News.........Well DFW decided to 'roll the dice' to help their playoff run when they traded for OF David Dejesus and relief pitchers RH Carlos Marmol & Jesse Carlson for ILL. The Spurs sent back OF Darin Erstad and Pitcher's Mark Hendrickson & Doug Brocail. The two teams also traded Draft picks, DFW sending their 1st and ILL sending their 5th. 'We needed help in all three areas' stated the skipper of the Spurs, Red Robbins. "You hate to give up your 1st round pick, but to get something you have to give up something. We got off to a fast start and everything was looking great. BK-2 exposed our weaknesses and showed that the foundation was made more of a house of cards instead of being solid. We were in a situation where we could have stood pat and done nothing, or take a chance and roll the dice. If we would have stood pat I'm sure we wouldn't be in the play off hunt. We have miss out on some trades in the past by hesitating to pull the trigger. This time we decided to roll the dice, and hope it comes up 'Seven' instead of 'Snake Eyes'", Red went on to say.

Reporter Ima Dumas ask Robbins, 'You sure like to use metaphors don't you'? Robbins just glared at him when he left the press conference. Later Dumas said that Robbins 'Shot him the Bird'. When asked about it Robbins said, 'I Wish' !
