Ervin Santana reeled off a total of 11 strikeouts at Thunderdome where the
Vermont Fighting Sioux beat the Pocono Chin Music by the score of 5 to
1.
Santana(6-1) gave a fine effort for Vermont. He went 7 and 1/3 innings
surrendering 9 hits and 1 walk. Vermont and Pocono each finished the
afternoon with 12 hits.
B.J. Ryan earned the save, his 6th. Dan Haren(5-7) took the loss. Santana,
when asked about his 11 strikeout performance noted, 'The important thing is
that we won, if I get 20 and we lose, what good does it do our team? But, on
the other hand, since we won it feels great!'
