Alex Gordon had 2 base hits and 2 RBI and Jack Flaherty dominated striking out
10 Canyon Country batters as the Vermont Fighting Sioux defeated the Canyon
Country Cannons by a score of 6 to 5 at Fighting Sioux Field.
 
Kirby Yates(2-1) was the winning pitcher with a solid relief performance.  He
didn't allow much, just 1 hit and no walks in 1 and 1/3 innings dropping his
ERA from 3.18 to 2.57.  Canyon Country threatened in the 9th but Vermont was
able to put down the rally.  
 
Will Smith gained credit for his 4th save. Seung Hwan Oh(0-1) was given the
loss in relief.  He pitched 1 inning allowing 1 hit and 1 walk.
 
'We lose our concentration for one pitch, and we lose the game.' Brendan
Conrad said after the game.  'Maybe now these guys will listen when I say
they have to concentrate on EVERY pitch.'
