Javier Vazquez took a no-hitter into the 7th inning and Russell Branyan lofted
one into the 'cheap seats' at Thunderdome as the Seattle Pilots beat the
Pocono Chin Music 6 to 2.
 
Vazquez(1-0) was simply too much for the Pocono batters.  He gave up just 3
hits and no walks in 9 innings and surrendered 2 'round-trippers'.  The
right-handed Vazquez lost his no-hit bid when Ben Zobrist homered with two
outs in the 7th inning.  Seattle banged out 11 hits on the night.  
 
The loss was charged to Tommy Hunter(0-1).  'When Vazquez is on like that it
is a tough game to play, no doubt about it,' Bill Anderson, Jr. said. 'He
always pitches well against us.'
