Cliff Lee delivered 9 solid innings as the Seattle Pilots defeated the Pocono
Chin Music by a score of 6 to 0 at Thunderdome.

Pocono was unable to recover after Seattle went ahead in the top of the 2nd
inning scoring 2 runs on 3 hits. After an out was recorded, Mike Lowell
initiated the scoring spurt when he stroked a single. David Dejesus stepped
up to the plate and he laced a base-knock, and an error was also committed.
Aaron Rowand then laced a one-base hit. That early run support was enough
for Lee(1-0) and Seattle. Seattle banged out 14 hits on the night.

Kevin Correia(0-1) was the losing pitcher. He was unable to control the
Seattle offense and allowed 11 hits and 4 walks in 6 innings.

'Lee pitched a gem of a game', Bill Anderson, Jr. recounted. 'He kept our
batters off balance the entire game.'
