Tommy La Stella went yard and had 3 RBI and Jason Vargas dominated striking
out 12 Shawnee batters as the Vermont Fighting Sioux outscored the Shawnee
Crows 8 to 7.
 
Vargas(2-0) earned his pay with a solid performance for Vermont.  He went 7
innings allowing 3 hits and 5 walks.  Vermont totaled 7 hits on the night.
 
Kirby Yates preserved the game for Vargas, recording his his 7th save. Brad
Keller(0-1) took the loss.  He allowed 4 homeruns in 2 and 2/3 innings of
work.  
 
Justin Rabidoux was asked about the performance of Vargas, 'He had his good
stuff out there tonight.  The fans really get into it when the strikeouts
start mounting up - and that seems to give him even more adrenalin.'
