Yeah, I am a long suffering Cleveland fanatic who was granted the NASBL Cleveland Indians franchise by Red Robbins in 1991.
The curse of Rocky Colavito, red right 88, the shot, the drive, the decision, frickin' Jose Mesa, the fumble . . .
I figure whatever doesn't kill you makes you stronger.
Back in the day, NASBL had real MLB teams and owners could "protect" 1 or 2 of their team's rookies for the price of a 1st or 1st and 2nd round draft pick. Manny, Lofton, and "don't call me Joey" Belle were all no-brainer protections. I had to trade for Omar. Gwynn was on the Padres team that I inherited in the late 90s.
