Jake Lamb cracked 2 homeruns and had 4 RBI and C.C. Sabathia allowed Doug
Sherlag to rest his bullpen, tossing a complete game as the Springfield
Isotopes beat the Vermont Fighting Sioux by a score of 13 to 4.
Lamb had a big day at the plate. He smashed a bases-empty 'big-fly' in the
5th inning and lost the ball over the fence for three runs in the 8th inning.
Springfield provided plenty of action in the 3rd inning with 4 runs on 4
hits. Springfield had a total of 20 hits for the game.
Sabathia(1-0) got the victory, allowing 4 runs for the game. Charlie
Morton(0-1) was the losing pitcher. He was knocked around pretty good,
giving up 9 runs in 4 and 2/3 innings.
