40,058 fans were treated to a fine game at Fighting Sioux Field as only one
run separated the combatants at game's end.  The Vermont Fighting Sioux won
by the slimmest of margins, 3 to 2.
 
Both teams were tied at 2 runs apiece after nine innings.  Vermont was
victorious in the 11th inning.  Kurt Suzuki smashed a solo-shot out of the
park making Vermont the victor and beginning a joyous home town celebration.
Vermont ended up with 9 hits for the game while Slatington had 5.  
 
Hansel Robles(1-0) went 1 inning allowing no runs for the victory. Jose
Suarez(0-1) was the loser in relief.  Despite losing, he struckout 5 Vermont
batters in 2 innings.
