Shortstop Nick Ahmed jacked one out of the ballyard and had 3 RBI as the
Shawnee Crows topped the Vermont Fighting Sioux by a score of 10 to 1 at
Fighting Sioux Field.
Shawnee wasted no time and took the lead in the first inning scoring 3 runners
on 3 hits. That was all Sean Newcomb(4-2) needed. For the game Shawnee
out-hit Vermont 16 to 7.
Newcomb was helped out by Brad Keller who recorded his 1st save. Trevor
Cahill(1-7) was the losing pitcher. He got hammered, allowing 16 hits and 4
walks in 9 innings.
The Shawnee ballclub's record now stands at a division leading 31-16. With
the loss, Vermont has a record of 4-6 lately, 28-22 overall.
