The Troy Haymakers defeated the Dallas Ft Worth Spurs by a score of 7 to 4 at
Turnpike Stadium.

Dallas Ft Worth never recovered after Troy took the lead in the top of the 2nd
inning when they scored 3 runs on 3 hits.  The crucial at-bat was provided by
Alcides Escobar who quieted the crowd when he stroked a base-hit plating two
runs.  Dallas Ft Worth had a chance in the 9th but they came up short. 

The win went to Kevin Gausman(1-0) who allowed 4 runs in 8 and 1/3 innings.
Gausman got relief help from Andrew Miller who gained credit for his 2nd
save.  Brett Anderson(1-1) absorbed the loss.  He allowed Troy 7 runs in 3
innings of work. 

'We just made a lot of mistakes, mostly mental,' Red Robbins said.  'It's bad
enough when the other team beats you, but when you start beating yourselves,
that's really bad.'
