Right fielder Whit Merrifield had 4 hits as the blistering-hot Vermont
Fighting Sioux won at Fighting Sioux Field in dramatic fashion over the
Denville Ultras, the final score, 5 to 4.
The game was won by Vermont with a run in the bottom of the 9th inning. After
an out was recorded, Willy Adames drew a walk. Merrifield stepped up next
and he banged out a single. One out later, Max Kepler then slapped a
base-hit resulting in a mighty exciting win for Vermont and the 46,507 home
town fans in attendance. Vermont ended up with 12 hits for the game while
Denville had 9.
Kirby Yates(3-0) picked up the victory, allowing no runs in 2/3 of an inning.
Scott Oberg(0-1) was given the loss in relief. He surrendered 1 hit and 1
walk in 1/3 of an inning.

The score was knotted at 2 after nine innings. Finally, Vermont pulled the
game out in the 10th inning. Tommy La Stella delivered a single. After an
out was recorded, Hunter Renfroe came up and he ripped a single. Ehire
Adrianza then delivered a one-base hit giving Vermont the win much to the
delight of the home town crowd. Vermont managed 8 hits in their victory.

Denville Ultras scored 7 runs for the win.
Denville went ahead for good in the 6th inning when they tallied 2 runs on 1
hit. The key at-bat was by Xander Bogaerts who quieted the home crowd when
he doubled plating two runs. Denville banged out 7 hits on the night.

the Denville Ultras by a score of 1 to 0 at Fighting Sioux Field.
The winning run, and the only run, was scored by Vermont in the 4th inning.
After an out was recorded, Ji-Man Choi blasted a solo shot. Kirby Yates
earned the save with a perfect ninth, his 10th save.
Corbin(5-3) went 8 innings allowing no runs for the victory. Jacob Degrom(6-5)
was the loser. Although losing the contest, he whiffed 13 batters in 8
innings.

The Vermont Fighting Sioux nipped the Denville Ultras in 10 innings 4 to 3 at
Fighting Sioux Field in a hard fought contest.
The score was tied at 3 after nine. Vermont ended up winning it in the 10th
inning. After an out was recorded, Carlos Correa ripped a solo home run
resulting in an exciting win for Vermont and a raucous post-game celebration
by the home town fans. Vermont had 7 hits for the afternoon.
Mike Minor(1-1) picked up the victory, allowing no runs in 1 inning. Chasen
Shreve(0-1) absorbed the loss in relief. He gave up 1 run and 2 hits in 2/3
of an inning.

Denville jumped out to the early lead in the first inning as they scored 3
runs on 2 base hits. The key at-bat was by Eddie Rosario who helped quiet
the crowd when he lost the ball over the fence for three runs. Sonny
Gray(1-0) got help from Matt Albers who pitched great and earned his 2nd
save.
Felix Hernandez(1-1) absorbed the loss. He pitched 9 innings allowing 9 hits

the 11th inning. Luis Valbuena kicked off the action when he drew a walk.
Logan Forsythe stepped up next and he was hit by a pitch. After an out was
recorded, Jason Castro then lofted a three-run bomb making Vermont the victor
and beginning a joyous home town celebration. Vermont rapped out 10 hits for
the night.
Hernandez(9-1) lasted until the end allowing 4 runs for the win. Matt
Andriese(1-2) was the losing pitcher in relief. He allowed 1 hit and no
walks in 1/3 of an inning.
'I just wanted to give my team a chance to win.' said Hernandez, 'I got burned
on a couple of pitches. But we won the game, and that's all that matters.'
