Vermont Fighting Sioux won a dramatic crowd-pleaser over Slatington Bulldogs
at Fighting Sioux Field pulling it out in their last at bats, 4 to 3.
 
The game was won by Vermont with a run in the 9th inning.  Eduardo Escobar
ripped a single.  One out later, Willy Adames was next to the plate, but was
promptly struck out.  Whit Merrifield then stroked a one-base hit.
Merrifield took second on the throw.  Miguel Cabrera stepped in and he was
walked intentionally to load the bases.  Max Kepler stepped into the box and
hit a single resulting in an exciting win for Vermont and a wild post-game
celebration by the home town fans.  Slatington was out-hit by Vermont, 12
hits to 7.  
 
Kirby Yates(1-0) allowed no runs in 2/3 of an inning, and picked up the
victory. The losing pitcher was Jose Suarez(0-2) in relief.  He pitched 1 and
1/3 innings allowing 3 hits and 1 walk.

and doubled making Vermont victorious to the delight of the the home town
crowd.  Vermont finished with just 6 hits in the victory.

Eduardo Escobar connected with a 'big fly' and had 2 RBI at Fighting Sioux
Field where the Vermont Fighting Sioux beat the Denville Ultras in 11 innings
by the score of 5 to 3.
 
Both teams were tied at 3 runs apiece after nine innings.  Vermont came out
the victor in the 11th inning.  After two were out Carlos Correa opened up
the rally as he doubled.  Max Kepler was next and he cleared the fences for a
two-run home run resulting in an exciting win for Vermont and a raucous
post-game celebration by the home town fans.  Both teams finished the game
with 9 hits.  
 
The winning pitcher was Kirby Yates(1-0) who allowed no runs in 1 inning.
Yusmeiro Petit(0-1) took the loss in relief.  He allowed 2 hits and no walks
