One run was the difference at Fighting Sioux Field as the Vermont Fighting
Sioux defeated the Lake Champlain Cannibals 4 to 3.
 
Vermont tallied 2 runs in the 4th inning when they had 3 base hits.  They
would hold up as the winning runs.  Vermont had 7 hits for the night.
 
Trevor Cahill(3-7) allowed 2 runs in 7 innings, and picked up the victory.
Will Smith preserved the game for Cahill, recording his his 7th save.  Nathan
Eovaldi(5-3) ended up with the loss.  
 
With this win, Vermont has a division leading 39-27 record.  They have been
7-3 lately.  Lake Champlain has a record of 37-19 after the loss.

The game was won by Vermont when they scored a run in the bottom of the 9th
inning.  After two outs Eduardo Escobar doubled.  Kepler came to the plate
and doubled making Vermont victorious to the delight of the the home town
crowd.  Vermont finished with just 6 hits in the victory.  
 
Kirby Yates(4-2) went 1 inning allowing no runs for the victory. Tony
Sipp(0-3) absorbed the loss in relief.  He pitched 2 innings giving up 2 hits
and no walks.

Left fielder Chris Taylor slammed a homerun and had 3 RBI as the Vermont
Fighting Sioux defeated the Outlaw Josey Wales by the score of 6 to 4 at
Fighting Sioux Field.
 
In the bottom of the 4th inning Vermont scored 5 runs when they had 4 base
hits.  The key offensive moment was provided by Taylor who elicited a roar
from the hometown fans when he lofted a three-run bomb.  Reyes Moronta
pitched a perfect ninth to earn his 2nd save.  
 
Trevor Cahill(1-6) was the winner allowing 4 runs in 6 and 2/3 innings. The
losing pitcher was James Paxton(1-5).  He was touched for 8 hits and 2 walks
