Catcher Jason Castro had 2 base hits as the Vermont Fighting Sioux beat the
Pocono Chin Music by a score of 7 to 4.
Pocono was unable to claim the lead after Vermont went ahead in the bottom of
the 2nd inning scoring 2 runs using 3 hits. Brandon Moss kicked off the
action when he singled. David Freese struck out, unable to help the rally.
Luis Valbuena then drew a walk. One out later, Kevin Kiermaier came to the
plate and lined a base-hit scoring a single run. Castro came up to bat and
lined a one-base hit scoring the final run of the inning. Pocono had 10 hits
in the game while Vermont had 7, but Vermont had the more timely hits.
Matt Moore(3-3) picked up the victory, allowing 4 runs in 6 innings. Brad
Ziegler recorded the save, his 14th. Aaron Sanchez(3-4) ended up with the
loss.
